While pastoring in Nigeria in 1999, Pastor Olu David received a leading from the LORD that it was time for International Outreaches. Thereafter he planted four churches but God said that was not it. The LORD said..."You need to move.". So he left for London England, being a familiar territory, but the LORD again said, "NO". On his return to Nigeria he sought the LORD'S face for two months for direction as to exactly what and where. Shortly after, an August visitor to his church approached him after the service and asked him if he would like to come to Canada to preach. He was the Pastor of a Baptist church in downtown Toronto, Canada.
After accepting the invitation Olu David arranged for himself a series of other preaching engagements in the United States with the sole aim of settling in the U.S. (Another familiar territory.) after his brief stay in Canada.
However on arriving in Canada he felt peace and fell in love with Canada. After ministering in the Baptist church, the LORD opened doors to minister in over twenty other churches in Toronto. It was an overwelming reception with confirmation with signs and wonders, so he felt at home. After this he left for the USA, but his going was just a confirmation that Canada was the place, so he returned to Canada.
Back in Canada with no paticular place to live, no fixed income, no church, no family (Wife and children still in Nigeria), he set his face again to seek the LORD for another two months. Exactly three days after, the LORD connected him with a group of seven strong and dedicated believers who had a plan to plant a multicultural church and had been seeking the LORD for two years to send them a church plantor/pastor.
The chemistry was great and the vision was compatible and harmonized with Pastor Olu David's vision of a multicultural field of harvest. It was God's own arrangement. He works all things well.
So the INTERCULTURAL WORSHIP CENTRE started in Sept 2001, in the city of Ajax, Ontario, Canada, with the unflinching support of the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada East (EMCCED). So far it has been a church of great testimonies and God's abiding presence.
